JNE Welding: Building Momentum in march

May 3, 2022 | potash news

At JNE Welding, March was a month of building momentum. Amongst projects for many sectors including Uranium and Oil Sands, JNE Welding made excellent progress on a number of projects for the Potash Sector. JNE’s QuickFab delivery model was used to deliver specialty rolled piping spools to a potash mill near Saskatoon. As well, production teams continued to make good progress on conveyor galleries for another mill along the highway 16 “potash corridor”.

In March, JNE’s safety focus was fatigue in the workplace – it is a critical occupational safety concern, especially for shift workers. Off the job, being overtired creates a risk for anyone who undertakes an activity that requires concentration and quick response. Exhaustion is one of the most common health complaints for Canadian workers.
The safety topic used in regular meetings covers how sleep is as basic to survival as food and water, the circadian clock, factors in the work environment that magnify the effects of sleep deprivation and how to fight fatigue.

JNE also proudly launched the #CombinedStrength Podcast, a podcast for fans of heavy fabrication and construction. Saskaboom 2.0 is underway, so this this semi-monthly podcast focuses on heavy industrial fabrication and construction projects in Saskatchewan: a little bit about what’s happening in the JNE shop and a little bit of what’s happening in the province, along with some stories and experiences from hosts and guests. Through boom and bust, a strong network of suppliers has grown up who work together to make the lives of their communities and families better. Through personal stories, news, project updates, interviews, and discussion, the hosts share what JNE’s getting done in Saskatchewan. Check out the pilot already available on YouTube and other platforms, and episode 1 is coming soon.
